I use the application Desk Cover which creates an effect of the desktop being in the background when there are windows open in front of it. However, I am wondering if it is possible to hide the application from both the dock and app switcher while still keeping the menu bar icon (where all of the main settings are located) visible. I know about the LSUIElement trick, however, to the best of my knowledge that will also hide the menu bar icon. Is there any way around this?

  • Have you tried contacting the developer and asking them to make this an option? Failing that try ghosttile.kernelpanic.im, it allows you to hide applications from the dock and the app switcher. – Alistair McMillan Jan 31 '18 at 21:43
