I have the following snipped in an AppleScript:

tell application "System Events"
    tell process "FileMaker Pro Advanced"

        set folder_name to do shell script "date +%Y-%m-%d-%H-%M-%S"

        -- Stuff that happens quickly

        click button "Create" of window 1
        delay 0.25
        keystroke "d" using {command down, shift down}
        delay 0.25
        click button "New Folder" of window 1
        delay 0.25
        keystroke folder_name

        -- More stuff that happens quickly
    end tell
end tell

The complete script can be found here.

This works correctly, but between click button "New Folder" and keystroke folder_name there's a delay of about 10 seconds. Is there any way to eliminate this?

This is on a 2016 15" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, 16 GB RAM and only a 1 TB internal flash drive for storage. The delay occurs regardless of whether there are any mounted network volumes.
