When opening a big file (for example with VLC or QuickTime) this message pops up for lots of seconds (different durations for each file):

I use encryption on iMac 5K.

Apparently there is no APFS volume in your system. – klanomath Oct 1 '17 at 16:01

APFS does not convert (nor support) Fusion Drives. support.apple.com/en-us/HT208018 – Allan Oct 1 '17 at 16:07
  • If you don't need your drive to be encrypted, turning off FileVault should remove this delay. – Timothy Mueller-Harder Oct 3 '17 at 18:19

I don't use encryption and have the same issue no matter what FS type my drive has, it always checks movie before opening and it's annoying me a lot... – C0DEF52 Oct 8 '17 at 18:18
