My Macbook's HDD is starting to show signs of age and I'm considering replacing it with a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD. I know and am comfortable with the actual hardware replacement, but I heard that the newest Mac; OS El Capitan, has some "feature" to prevent using third party SSDs. Something to do with TRIM if I remember right. I would like to know if that is an actual problem or if I can go ahead and make the purchase.
Thank you very much!
P.S. I'd like to point out that this will be a fresh install.
