I just got a new macbook pro and I had to set up an Apple ID.

The computer took me through the steps to verify my Apple ID. It says it is verified, but not activated yet. How do I activate it?

When I want to download something from the App Store, it tells me, "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the App Store. Please review your account information."

When I click "review" it sends me through this process in which I have to agree to the "Terms and Conditions of the Apple Privacy Policy" when I click the little box to agree to the terms and conditions, there is nothing left to do. It just sits on the screen and does not allow me to proceed or does not have an option to proceed. What am I supposed to do? And how can I activate my new Apple ID account in order to be able to download from the App Store?

    I can't post as an anwswer, but open up iTunes and go through the registration process there. Go to the store within iTunes, and do the setup, accept the license, etc. Add a payment method. You don't have to buy any music. Now you can go to the App Store and buy whatever you need. – JBCP Nov 16 '17 at 17:48
  • lucky you, when I click "review" it thinks about it for a minute then drops me back at the app as if nothing happened. this is maddening when all i want to do is install a free app! – Michael May 31 '18 at 16:38
  • you are lucky... when I click "Review", nothing at all happens!!! – Michael Feb 7 at 16:03
  • On iPhone have a loop error. Login with your Apple ID in iTunes on Mac or Windows and review your account. – Douglas Ianitsky Apr 13 at 14:50

    @JBCP thanks, it worked for me. – PJ_Finnegan May 13 at 21:30

If you've just created a new Apple ID, and it is giving you the message "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the App Store", it is because you have to set your billing and shipping address in your account information.

Login to appleid, go to "Payment & Shipping" and set your address for both Billing and Shipping.

    Nope it doesn't work for me. I have added the Billing and Shipping information, money was deducted and refunded too but no use. – karthik vee Apr 4 '18 at 11:53

    i shouldn't have to enter any of this information to get a free app. and in any case this is a work machine for which there is no payment method available, so i can't enter any. – Michael May 31 '18 at 16:40

    if i enter a fake (but validator approved) number it says my payment method was declined. is it actually trying to charge something??? edit: yes, it has been almost a YEAR and i still haven't been able to download anything because of this freakin' problem - this is beyond ridiclous! – Michael Feb 7 at 16:10
  • Hey @Michael, yes it will charge you 1$ or 1€ (depending on your region) but Apple will return it to you within a week. AFAIK this is to validate if your billing information is legit – CIRCLE Feb 7 at 23:02

    @karthikvee After setting your billing/shipping address at Apple ID, open iTunes and sign in using your new account. It will navigate you to the terms of service/privacy agreement. After acceptance, you will able to download apps on App Store. – JP Ventura Mar 27 at 13:06

Did you receive a verification email at the email address you set up as your AppleID? If not, log into https://appleid.apple.com using the email and the password you created. In there, you should have options on the screen to verify the email address if it is not already verified.
