I had already checked out sendemail and it works perfectly. I was just wondering why mail no longer works. Is it because it does not allow me to set the "From: " header causing the relayhost (in /etc/postfix/main.cf) to not accept that email?

You may be thinking of sendemail vs sendmail, sendmail is a compatibility shim for the Apple-shpped full SMTPd Postfix.
