Thank you @cyberthal, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an option to only disable the fn + a shortcut; the shortcut is also undocumented (the only info about it is scattered around in different forums)

How did you resolve this? I use ctrl + a a lot for gnu screen, and the fn + a gets on the way very often. I ended up disabling the fn key altogether, but I wish I could just disable the fn + a shortcut only
