Apr 20 at 4:55 comment added Cyberthal You're right. I used BetterTouchTool to set an application-specific behavior for Fn-a, which overrides MacOS default behavior in that case. I couldn't get it to send Fn-a, I don't think, so I send an equivalent keybind instead.
Apr 18 at 22:54 comment added Nico Brenner Thank you @cyberthal, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an option to only disable the fn + a shortcut; the shortcut is also undocumented (the only info about it is scattered around in different forums)

Apr 16 at 18:39 comment added Nico Brenner How did you resolve this? I use ctrl + a a lot for gnu screen, and the fn + a gets on the way very often. I ended up disabling the fn key altogether, but I wish I could just disable the fn + a shortcut only
