Oct 5, 2020 at 12:59 comment added user3439894 From MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020) - Technical Specifications under Battery and Power one of the items is "30W USB-C Power Adapter; USB-C power port" and under Charging and Expansion it states "Two Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports with support for:" followed by "Charging" and additional info. In Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook it states "If you use a power adapter that is lower in wattage than the adapter that came with your Mac, it won't provide enough power to your computer."
