Aug 1, 2020 at 17:42 comment added Allan Could be dry rot or if it was serviced at some point and the person was careless. You can try to get a replacement connector on eBay... should be cheap. Or get a HDD caddy and put a second drive in there for backup or move your spinning drive in there, buy an SSD and create a fusion drive for more speed and space. Or just ignoring it and use a USB external drive.
