Apr 17, 2021 at 17:39 comment added CJK @dunxd I finally got around to making the edit I described. I’m not entirely certain that multiline values are permitted by the launchd standard, but if I you need to, you can separate each of the three lines into individual items in the array as you did with yours.

Apr 12, 2021 at 12:37 comment added dunxd @CJK - that makes sense - I couldn't figure out how to run two applications if a conditional was true. That makes more sense, but it was hard enough to figure out the AppleScript syntax - so little clear documentation. Or I don't know how to describe what I am looking for.
Mar 19, 2021 at 16:41 comment added CJK @dunxd Well done for figuring it out. Sorry you went through the trouble: I started a reply on my phone, and it seems my Android settings are such that the current state of an app isn't saved once it becomes a background task. Anyway, I'll make a slight edit to your edit when I'm home, as calling the list disks function twice is going to take twice as long.

Added info about how to run both Music and TV which replaced iTunes with the launch of Catalina
Mar 18, 2021 at 22:44 comment added dunxd I figured out how to launch both Music and TV at the same time - added as an edit at the end of answer.

Mar 18, 2021 at 22:06 comment added dunxd TV is actually called com.apple.TV - I think case sensitivity is important.
Mar 15, 2021 at 12:59 comment added dunxd Apple broke iTunes up into two apps - Music and TV. Update the script to replace com.apple.iTunes with com.apple.music or com.apple.tv. I'm not sure how to start both Music and TV at the same time. Is it possible, or do I need to have two plists?
Mar 6, 2020 at 14:43 comment added Mike Heinz This works great. I adapted it to run an rsync script to backup my photos library whenever I plug the appropriate disk in.
Sep 9, 2019 at 13:15 comment added dunxd A month later, it is working very well. Thanks so much!

Aug 2, 2019 at 14:18 comment added dunxd This works great, and doesn't require the presence of any extra files, so is much more transferable to other people, who just need to edit the name of the drive that houses their iTunes library. I've accepted this as the answer, as it is the one I'm now using. Thanks to TJ Luoma for his answer which moved things in the right direction.
