Feb 2, 2019 at 16:20 | comment | added | Francesco | I need at least 10.7 as it is the minimum version for a driver that I would like to install.
Feb 2, 2019 at 15:25 | comment | added | Hefewe1zen | Ultimately its kind of a moot endeavor, as I don't think any of the newer browsers will be supported on 10.7. Having the firewall on etc. may help with security but ultimately the OS is no longer patched as well as the aforementioned old browser problem which is arguably more of a security issue. You may be better off installing some version of linux on it instead.

Feb 2, 2019 at 14:12 | comment | added | Tetsujin | Double-check it's this one - everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/… If so the latest OS it can take is 10.7.5 which was the last chargeable upgrade, £19.99 UK price [still] from apple.com/uk/shop/product/D6106ZM/A/os-x-lion I'm not sure in this day & age that's really going to be much more 'secure' than what's already on there.
