So I have a keyboard / mouse issue; neither built-in will work.. Looked up online and people have suggested rebooting and holding "command, option, p & r"; tried it, it refused my password when trying to disable FileVault (still don't know why) rebooted and disable FileVault manually from system preferences. Kind of regretting it since it now tells me "more than a day" until finished. Googled and found out I couldn't cancel and had to wait for it to finish...

What I'm wondering is -> I read online that when encrypting, you can continue using your laptop like nothing is happening. Is it the same for decrypting? can I shut down my laptop (to try different solutions for my keyboard/mouse problems)? Will that mess up the decryption process & corrupt my SSD?

Also if you have any tips on keyboard/mouse randomly stopping... I'll take those too.
