May 30, 2017 at 16:39 comment added Allan If wiring is out of the question, and since this is temporary, go with a power line solution that will give you Ethernet so you can avoid WiFi altogether. I agree that WiFi should work but for whatever reason Apple makes this an unnecessary challenge to overcome. I prefer to avoid the issue altogether whenever possible
May 30, 2017 at 16:15 comment added mickburkejnr @NoahL I have deleted the network plist files twice, had no effect. What is SMC you're referring to?
May 30, 2017 at 16:02 comment added mickburkejnr @Allan I'm not in the position to rip up floorboards and wire my ethernet cable in to the other room, as this Mac Mini is set up in the dining room until my own office is sorted out. Besides, it's a backwards step to take in hard wiring a computer that worked perfectly before a software update. But yeah, I may have to resort to installing El Cap - something known as upgrading ;)
May 30, 2017 at 15:26 comment added Allan Sierra and WiFi issues have been synonymous since it Sierra's release. I would do two things: install El Cap and hardwire your connection.
May 30, 2017 at 15:23 comment added NoahL Have you tried either resetting the SMC or deleting the network plist files?
