May 2, 2017 at 20:09 | comment | added | v15 | @Allan, thanks for the link! Not having ever used a solution like this, I would like to have the folders be in sync automatically upon any changes. If the folder is on the NAS, would I still have to 'mount' it on the Mac's? If it's mounted, would it then not be a truly local folder?

May 2, 2017 at 17:45 | comment | added | Allan | Yes. DSM (os for Synology) allows you to create your own local cloud that will sync for you. See this link.
May 2, 2017 at 17:42 | comment | added | v15 | Thanks Allan! Now, with a NAS, I would have to 'mount' the main shared folder everytime to access it correct? Can I 'mirror' a folder on the NAS so it's replicated on all the clients? i.e. files are on the Macbook pro locally when away from the internet.

May 2, 2017 at 17:37 | comment | added | Allan | A NAS would be perfect in this situation. I personally use the the Synology Diskstation 212j which is more than enough to support at least 5 clients, my dev server, backups, and a Plex Server. Just use NFS or AFP to mount shares.
