Feb 25, 2022 at 13:26 | comment | added | bjb | @adolfgarlic you are correct - when this answer was written (almost 6 years ago) there was hope of iPhones/Pads supporting USB3 because they just started to with their highest end iOS device (the iPad Pro), but here we are now in 2022 and they're still capped with USB 2 speeds. | |

I didn't suspect my USB connection would be an issue since I've only got USB 3.0 hubs attached to my MBP, but somehow System Information is showing them as connected at 2.0. Connecting my iPod directly to my mbp did the trick. Guess I've got some cable and/or hub isolating and troubleshooting to do. | |
