I'm an enthusiastic amateur or a semi-pro photographer, depending on mood and day of the week. :)

How do I make iTunes sync automatically when an iPhone, iPad or iPod is connected? I must admit that seems the most likely explanation, even though it's poor usability. Can you link to any info from Apple that backs that up, or is it just a hunch on your part? |

How do I make iTunes sync automatically when an iPhone, iPad or iPod is connected? Ah, yes it does. So it auto-sync only available with that option checked? How stupid and unintuitive! Plus I'm still sure it used to work without that checked. |

How do I make iTunes sync automatically when an iPhone, iPad or iPod is connected? iTunesHelper is running fine but I think that's a red herring. A problem with iTunesHelper might prevent iTunes from starting when a device is connected, but I'm talking about connecting a device when iTunes is already running. As I said, the device appears in iTunes fine, it just doesn't auto-sync. |

How can I make Find My Friends display distance in miles rather than km? That certainly seems to be the case, although the Maps app shows me distance in miles (and always has). |

How can I make Find My Friends display distance in miles rather than km? "Incorrect" display of dates for a start: in the UK we use DD MMM YYYY, not MMM DD, YYYY. All considered that wouldn't be a fix. |

What's a good Picasa upload app for iPhone? Yes, I think that's the case. Sorry, missed that you specifically wanted bulk uploads. |

Does the oleophobic effect of the iPhone screen wear off over time? +1 for that fascinating commentary from the science guy! |

Why does OS X warn me before running an app downloaded from the Internet? What an excellent answer: informative, detailed and polite! Thanks for taking the time to do such a thorough job. |

Why does OS X warn me before running an app downloaded from the Internet? p.s. I know Windows has the same prompt, but everyone agrees that malware exists for Windows. Perhaps the correct answer here is that viruses are rare on Macs but other types of malware aren't? |

Why does OS X warn me before running an app downloaded from the Internet? "Biased" how? I can assure you it isn't - it's a genuine question that I don't know the answer to! |

Why does OS X warn me before running an app downloaded from the Internet? Trust me, I do get it: my terminology was just a bit woolly. I've added clarification. It's very much a genuine question - the downvote seems unwarranted to me. |

Why does OS X warn me before running an app downloaded from the Internet? As an additional point, who is the warning for? Advanced users will generally know what they're downloading and regard it as a nuisance bit of hand-holding, and more typical users (aka "your mother" :) aren't normally equipped to judge whether they should heed the warning or not. Either way, I seems a clumsy and redundant UI experience. |
