How do I repair permissions of a specific directory? @gentmatt you are correct, an admin account does not mean that the root user is enabled. |

How do I repair permissions of a specific directory? I don't believe that you need to have the root user enabled to do this if you have an admin account and use 'sudo' instead of 'su', like this: sudo chmod -R 777 / #put the path to your directory after the slash. Enter your user's password when prompted. |

Syncing with multi Mac household No. iTunes Match will not sync your movies, books or ringtones, it handles music only. It is my understanding that if you purchase any of the above via iTunes or the App store, you can download then to your other devises directly by using the same Apple ID - this obviously will not work for any content that was not bought from Apple. |

iPad Apps with nice transitions/animations Just create a US account sans credit card. You can then download all the free apps in the US store that are not available where you are. Once created it's easy to switch between the two accounts as needed. Here's a guide: support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 |

Where does Lion's autosave feature save past versions? I just tested this with a USB drive (formatted as Mac OS Extended Journaled) and the result was that Lion created the the .DocumentRevisions-V100 directory including the sqlite database files at the root of the USB drive. |
