Siri says “speak you like to”; is there something messed up with my phone? See my edit for how to reproduce. Looks like it only happens over Bluetooth. |

iPhone does not charge with Mac Pro or PC USB ports Does it charge from a wall charger, or is it simply not charging at all? |

How can I recover files from a failing hard drive? While this ended up taking WEEKS, I managed to recover the data. Thanks so much! |

How can I recover files from a failing hard drive? One thing that I'm confused by, though...the docs seem to indicate that you can resume scanning, but I don't see anything in there about it retrying failed blocks/sectors (re: your last paragraph). Any more info on how to do that? Can I just run pass after pass on the same drive and image and it'll update the image with any previously failed blocks that now succeeded? |

How can I recover files from a failing hard drive? Thanks for this! I'm running it now, so we'll see if it's going to work tonight. I plan on using DiskWarrior on the resulting image to see if it can rebuild the directory. |

Active Directory account locks for no apparent reason @Kent: You also can probably get more help on this issue if you post on serverfault.com instead of here. It sounds more like an AD configuration issue than something specific to OSX (even if the workstation with the issue is running OSX) |

Active Directory account locks for no apparent reason @Kent: Looking at the logs after you've patched the problem won't help, unfortunately. You'll have to be able to get the lockout to occur again and check the log for it to be of any value. |

Bad Aspect Ratio in Quicktime on Video from Camcorder @Nuc (Just FYI, replacing spaces with hyphens in responses will prevent the user from getting a notification of your message) I've tried that, but FC doesn't recognize my camera as a capture source. I'm not sure the device implements the camera profile, just the removable storage profile. |

Bad Aspect Ratio in Quicktime on Video from Camcorder Sounds interesting, though I have to say for the amount of money that I paid for FC, I was hoping to avoid having to purchase another program (not to mention wishing to avoid having two additional programs in the process of just importing digital video). Once I have a chance to test, I'll give this a shot and see if it corrects the issue and I'll accept if I can't get a better solution. Thanks! |

Active Directory account locks for no apparent reason @Kent: An account can lock out any time the number of unsuccessful logins within a particular amount of time (or consecutive) is reached. Have you looked in the Security log in the Event Viewer on the DC? That will tell you where the failing authentication is coming from. |

Are there personal finance applications offering both an iPhone and a mac version? I've tried iBank and ditched it because of its (at the time, at least) poor transaction download feature. I was used to an easy reconciliation process, and it was cumbersome. The interface is also somewhat chunky. |

Are there personal finance applications offering both an iPhone and a mac version? Mint also does not allow you to enter transactions proactively, or otherwise alter the register. All information in Mint has to be downloaded from a financial institution. |

Update/backup iPod via iTunes on virtual Windows XP? Have you tried setting up an XP VM? iTunes runs fine on XP; your sticking point will be the USB support in your host OS and the virtualization environment. |
