Hi. My name is Daniel.

I'm mostly active on Ask Different, where I'm now a moderator◆, but I sometimes visit some other Stack Exchange sites (more to read than anything else).

I first got into computers in 1982, and learned to program on an Apple //+. Switched to Mac in 2003. I'm not a computer pro; it's just a hobby. I hope any of my questions or answers are helpful.

Surely Find My Mac doesn't actually boot from the recovery partition every time it checks to make sure it's present.

If you're really just interested in getting the CPU temperature, that could be an end-user question, but your question text seems to suggest you're looking for an API to do this programmatically, which puts the question outside the scope of this site.

Nov 25	comment	How do I get iTunes to just play one album? If the answer involves AppleScript, yes, it does. If the answer involves a difference in the way the two platforms work, then yes, it does. In general, it's helpful to specify. In this case, there's an answer that works for both, which is great, but not all solutions work for iTunes on both platforms (just like the version of iTunes can also matter).

I've found conflicting reports on the web, and I want to be sure before putting secure documents onto my iPod.
