Traveling with laptop without iPhoto, How do I acquire older version like 8.1.2? That link is to a 13.MB updater, not much use without the actual app... |

How can I show a slideshow of pictures in multiple subfolders while keeping them in order? Yes it does. Albums are quite distinct from Events. So import your 4 folder - that will give you 4 events. Then create an Album and drag the photos from the Events to the Album, one at a time. Then make your slideshow from the Album. Note that albums only contain pointers to the shots in the Events, so there's no wasted space. |

iPhoto 9.4.2 crashes on startup and reboots MacBook Pro 10.8.2 No need to rename anything, just hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'... |

Can an iPad work to replace a computer in terms of photo management? Did that migration include the added metadata - faces, places, keywords, et al - as well as the edit history? And the ability to revert to original? |

How do I get iPhoto to recognize an older Canon PowerShot A40? Well you're in Catch 22 land I'm afriad. Canon's won't mount on the desktop so you can't access them via the Finder. Putting the Card in a USB Reader would get around that, but you don't have one of those. And neither Image Capture nor iPhoto can see the card. Usual cause: minor directory damage on the card and reformatting the card with the camera will sort that out - but it will also erase the card. So you need to get the shots off the card and then reformat. A Card Reader is inexpensive... or try bring the camera to another computer... |

What happens if iPhoto is opened and the volume with the library is not available? It's not a file at all, but a package - a folder that looks like a file in the Finder. What gets trashed is the main db files - basically, all your organisation, searching, keywords etc etc etc |
