I work at a large international development charity in London, as International Operations Manager. I manage a team of Regional ICT Service Managers, based in developing world countries, who keep our users happy through fixing problems, setting up great connectivity and generally making sure users can do their day jobs.
I previously worked at the same place as International Network Systems Analyst. I looked after a bunch of ICT systems in offices in the developing world, as well as looking after systems in our HQ. I gained a lot of knowledge in that job, and the techy side competes with the people stuff in the new role, hence I still hang out here a lot.
I'm passionate about the use of ICT in developing countries, both in terms of dealing with the inherent problems for ICT in those places, and using ICT as a tool for development.

Have Automator add original path to Spotlight Comment for a file when moving to the trash In that case I'm not going to get much further with my project - I'm trying to get an automator workflow that will "fix" the trash functionality. I don't get this by creating a "special" way to move files to the trash. I guess what I have achieved so far allows me to find recently deleted items, and the Put Back functionality works at least some of the time. That'll do for now. Thanks for the assistance. |

Have Automator add original path to Spotlight Comment for a file when moving to the trash I'll award the bounty to this, as it has probably set me in the right direction, but it hasn't really answered the question for me. |

Have Automator add original path to Spotlight Comment for a file when moving to the trash This looks very helpful in that it shows how to get the path of a file but I am using the Folder Action receives files and folders added to Trash. I already have a step which appends the timestamp and user that deleted the item to the Spotlight comment. How can I append the original path to this comment as a separate step? |

Which low cost server device is compatible with iOS VPN on demand? This question may be more on topic at Server Fault (www.serverfault.com), or at least you may get more Cisco people lurking there. |

Buying a Macbook pro retina 15", RAM or storage? I'd second this. Only five years ago, 256GB of storage would have seemed plenty and you wouldn't have worried. Not having enough RAM is going to hurt on a daily basis. |
