comment Could the recently announced Mac Minis power a theoretical 5K Retina display?
It sounds to me like the bigger problem is that current Thunderbolt implementations don't have sufficient bandwidth...

@ShiVik Good catch! This had been bugging me as well. Please consider posting command + down as a separate answer and accepting it. :)

comment How do I get Time Machine to Show in Notification Center?
Do you mean that Time Machine doesn't show up in the list of apps under System Preferences > Notifications, or that no notifications from Time Machine ever appear? (In my experience, Time Machine only notifies me when a backup hasn't happened for many days...)

comment How do I remotely control my iPhone from my MacBook with no wifi or AC power available (so no router)?
Once you've connected to the ad-hoc network from your iPhone, does the phone not show an IP address on the network's details page?

comment A REAL iTunes server on NAS
Guess I was thinking internal, where you're limited to 2x2.5" drives. But, yes, externals give you more flexibility.

comment A REAL iTunes server on NAS
I think a refurbished or used Mac Mini could easily be price-comparable to a decent NAS + drives, though it's obviously going to be more capacity-constrained...

comment Can I change “delete” to “archive” in the message control bezel in Mail.app?
Are you talking about the icons in the toolbar, as in koelnek's screenshot, or the icons that appear inside the message itself, per the OP's screenshot? The former can be modified as you describe, but I don't get any options when right-clicking the latter in Mavericks.

How are you trying to place the cursor in the middle of "toFind"? If you tap the word, the cursor ends up at either the beginning or the end, but if you tap-and-hold until the loupe appears, you should be able to place the cursor in between characters as expected. Does that not happen?

comment Is it safe to allow apps to access your photos?
This doesn't really answer the question, evident from the fact that the OP re-asked it in comments. And there are no settings regarding allowing apps only from the App Store / certified developers on iOS, which is the subject of the question.
