comment Reset Mac OS X bluetooth service?
FYI for others. I had the issue of bluetooth headphones skipping after the computer was sleeping overnight which I previously had to reboot the computer to fix. I'm using OS X 10.11.3. The Reset the Bluetooth module debug menu command fixed this for me, so thanks! Much more convenient.

comment Are any of the USB ports on a Macbook Pro “always on”
@PeterDavis I don't understand the point you're making. My answer, which references Apple's support document, clearly states that extra power will only be supplied if the device is awake.

comment Yahoo Search has hijacked all my internet browsers (Safari, Firefox). How to remove the adware/malware?
This isn't a very useful answer. Yes you used the terminal, but how did you delete it? What commands did you run? If you followed another answer's recommendation, then you should have marked that as being the solution.

comment How to set to open folder with enter in finder?
@mahemadhi There is no confirmation dialog since the file isn't immediately deleted, it goes to the trash. I generally don't open folders with the keyboard, when I do I'm in column or list view (I'm not an animal) so therefore I'm using arrow keys for navigation. Right Arrow opens folders. What could be easier?

@mahemadhi Read my comment closely. It does delete just the text if you are in text editing mode. But humans are not perfect, and I may have the file selected but not the text of the filename.

@Praxeolitic Ah sorry, this method doesn't work since the Keychain Scripting was removed from OS X. :/ — I found another method, changing my answer.

comment Why does the enter/return key rename a file/folder, instead of opening it?
@Phillip Indeed, I can only speak for myself, as everyone has different usage patterns. I very rarely open documents using the Finder. Usually I open the application first and use the Open dialog. Those times I do use the Finder, I don't use the keyboard, so i'm double-clicking the files. If I want to navigate the filesystem with the keyboard, it's simply faster and more efficient to use ZSH/bash in the terminal.

@Phillip In recent versions of OS X, Apple has supplied a dedicated launcher inspired by iOS: Launchpad. The first comment in this thread made the same argument you have and I addressed it in the second comment.

comment How do I move an app out of a folder on iOS 8? (e.g. newspaper out of “newsstand”)
@Bryce Perhaps this isn't the answer you're looking for, but alas even according to the NYTimes FAQ, it's true. You can't move the NYTimes app out of the Newsstand folder.

comment How can I delete a partition (coreStorage logical volume?) from the Terminal?
I had a corrupt Fusion Drive partition which Disk Utility refused to reformat. I followed the first two steps of this procedure (with the difference that because I rebooted with a recovery drive I couldn't use sudo and the distil command was diskutil unmountDisk). I couldn't do the mergePartitions command because the partitions are on different physical disks, but when I switched back to Disk Utility it automatically recognized the deleted LVG and offered to rebuild the Fusion Drive. Success! Thanks for getting me on the right track.

comment How to contact Apple Support?
@jww Silly question. I know it's quaint, but have you tried calling a support phone number or the developer support phone number?
