Went from near-zero knowledge of OSX to creator of a plugin for Photoshop CS5 on Snow Leopard. Though I had dealt with Mac before, it was interesting to get under the hood. XCode was quite fine, once I figured out the basics.

Software expertise is mostly with bits, pixels, graphics, signal processing, scientific experimental R&D, 3D geometry, compiler/interpreter innards, Linux, more science numbercrunching, and teaching cats how to do my work for me. Regrettably, the latter endeavor has proven to be a total failure.
