comment Keyboard shortcut for restoring applications from the Mac OS X Dock?
There's something easier I use to do: instead of cmd + M (minimize) apps, etc, I use to cmd + H (hide). When I alt + tab (alternate apps, etc) it restores immediately. Btw, here goes two nice references for Mac shortcuts: danrodney.com/mac support.apple.com/kb/HT1343?viewlocale=en_US

Man, I think you're right. Unfortunately we just look for reviews and in the most cases they just talk about the good parts. I've tested it and according to your first link, it's actually really slow. It took me a lot of time in a backup and I'm really considering to get my money back. Not for the time transfer but more related to this post issue. I saw the second link as a possible solution, but I don't want this headache, it's overtime. Really thanks for giving some feedback!

comment Applications gone from Dock. How to restore?
Check this out forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=480561 or try it: "Go to the finder and locate your Applications folder. Get Info on it (Command-I) then proceed to selecting the little folder icon on the top left. Cut (Command-x) and your original icon should be restored."

comment What are the main difficulties people face migrating from Linux to Mac OS?
Some more questions: Are there good apps for free to work with: graphics, sound and image edition? If you have an iMac 21.5", is it good for running HD videos?

thanks for the feedback. I think you've got the point I needed. In general for development purposes ain't no changes, besides you can get practically everything from Linux and a bit more. I'm really considering to achieve my iMac 21.5". By now I'll keep my Linux notebook to fulfill my needs and my hacker spirit (since Mac OS X does not allow us a lot of that). I came here to ask something else, because I haven't found anything good about this issue. Thanks again :D

Hi hotpaw2, so have you done this migration before? So I think in general I'll have no problems.
