@bmike Does it log the mounting of a file system or does it log the attachment of an USB device? I tested with a gamepad.

Did you try to run Keychain First Aid? It's available in the application menu of Keychain Access (Schlüsselbundverwaltung) in 10.10.2 and beyond.

You might want to extend your search to "mini DisplayPort to multiple HDMI"-adaptors. Thunderbolt IS NO DISPLAY CONNECTOR. It's mainly a combination of PCIe and DisplayPort lanes.
