comment Disable “Try the new safari” popup
@atrioom, you get the same warning when trying to uninstall the Chess.app. I doubt its that interwoven. ;-) The arguments you were given sounds like those from Microsoft when asked by the European Commission to unbundle Internet Explorer from Windows.

@atrioom, try deleting Safari? I suspect that is measured somewhere and is the most effective signal.

@epimorphic it is actually not strictly required. It is just an extra measure to try and keep the thing from popping up again at a later time.

The two blobs are base64 encoded. Their format does not resemble anything I know of. The first blob contans a reference to /Users/naiad/Downloads/ and the second to a non-Latin script word/name.

comment What does the “EU Internet” switch do on my iPhone 5s?
Nifty option, but should it not be reversed? “EU roaming only” would make more sense.

comment Why does Apple Mail not provide default color font choice?
Unfortunately, “Apple knows best” for things like this. It is not configurable outside the options available for accessibility. You could investigate alternative email clients like Thunderbird or Postbox.
