comment How can I disable wireless captive portal support?
I appreciate your concern, but I believe you may not have an accurate understanding of the situation. The "internal" web pages are, and are intended to be by the university, available to both authenticated and unauthenticated users. On a less-automated wireless device, e.g. a laptop running Mac OS X, one can associate with the wireless network and then navigate to the internal site via a web browser without ever having to sign in. I am simply trying to reproduce this common procedure in a new operating system.

No, I'm asking on behalf of people who cannot sign in at the login page but still need access to non-blocked network resources.

comment Where is the documentation of the options on the 'System Services' settings screen?
The only service I see explained is "Setting Time Zone", and this is as an example use in an introductory paragraph.

comment How can I create an entry in the /Applications folder that runs a command in the terminal?
It's not clear to me how to cause the Automator workflow to open a new terminal window and run the command inside. Can you please elaborate on this?

@bmike By "Applications menu" I am referring to this contraption. What do you call it? Applications place?

@Mark I need the terminal window so I can see the output of the command.
