How to place Dictionary definitions higher up in spotlight results I realize this doesn't directly answer your question, but you may find satisfaction with a more robust application launcher. It's as easy as typing define '...'. I prefer Alfred, but Quicksilver is great too. |

Copying text from a file using Quick Look? Nice. I didn't even consider textutil. I've added your command to my bash aliases and am passing the filename as an arg. Also, for others reading who may not like CLI, I also forgot about right-clicking and selecting "Open With" TextEdit, which has a much smaller footprint than Office. |
