comment On occasion why does my iMac drop my wi-fi network?
KisMac, kismac-ng.org (free WiFi survey tool) may give you some more information - e.g. whether there are (and how strong) other signals near your channel - perhaps popping up now and then, do all signals seem to attenuate when one does, does it confirm the multiples your Airport card reports? It does sound rather like an Airport or OS issue, but you might be able to learn something more.

comment Is there an Apple list of terminal based tweaks?
Question seems straight forward enough - nathang pointed to one such list. 'Exhaustive'? Well, probably only Apple could answer that but 'comprehensive' is pretty darn useful.

comment MacBook Pro won't boot anymore after a fall
A few more things to try, even though they may only confirm what you suspect (or not!): Press the battery button and see if it shows a charge. Boot with battery alone; with battery and charger; with battery removed and charger alone. Try booting to the install DVD; if that works, run the diagnostics. Try booting into target disk mode (hold 'T' key while booting) and look at the disk from another computer connected by firewire (knowing already that the disk works, this would test cable, connecter & controller). Open the back and look for loose connectors and physical damage.

comment A file exists in guest Windows XP (under Fusion), can I open the file in an OSX program?
Then you might try 1) symbolic links - howtogeek.com/howto/16226/… - and see if your application will accept them; and if not, then 2), a continuously running process (batch file or .exe) on XP (since the host OS can't see into the guest) that watches for changes in either the C: or Z: folders and copies the latest changes from one to the other. This is a HACK and needs to be done carefully to avoid loops, race conditions, or stepping on the application's toes in who-knows-what ways. It's doable but it won't be pretty!

The executables won't really benefit from being on the Mac FS anyway. Can you configure it to put its data files (configs, whatever else you personally need to manipulate) on a different drive? That would be the determining factor.
