comment Can an iPod battery be replaced?
Funny, the original question specifically stated "Is there such a thing, that it can't be recharged ?" But that was edited out. He was asking if it can be replaced after its useful life. It didn't appear he didn't understand rechargeable batteries.

Update - I tried this and it didn't work. My timing was awful, as I finally found the receipt and the 1 year had just passed. It's still useful, I just need to have a little battery handy, or access to an outlet. Next $75 off sale, I'll just grab a new one.

Yes 8.3 latest update . And I was monitoring setting/usage to make sure I wasn't falling asleep and using 10 hours without knowing. It confirms the sub 8 hr life.

Never thought of this. Thanks.

I added more detail. The store is a 1 hour round trip. I was hoping to find an answer here (even a confidence level) before going to the store. A "don't bother unless really" or "anything less than 20 audio hours and they should replace" was what I expected. I'd think this would be a legitimate question.

comment Startup disk not correctly identified?
Yes. And that's an ok workaround, I suppose. Still, I'd like to solve why the drive isn't first recognized as 10.10, and shows 10.7 instead.

comment SSD and PPC with Leopard 10.5.8
No problem! I have G4, G5, MacPro, and went thru the migration, G4 to G5 still used PPC, but I had to make the jump to SATA, and move data off quite a few PATA hard drives. The move to MacPro let me keep drives but start to lose software that didn't like the move even under Rosetta.

G5 is already SATA.

Over 24hrs and the one swapfile hasn't grown at all. I'll use this advice if/when it does.
