comment Where are crontab files stored in OS 10.8
@patrix - yes there are crontabs and yes I checked in /var/cron/tabs but they are not there in 10.8. As noted in the man entry they are in fact in /usr/lib/cron/tabs.

Nope, @fd0, I didn't. But now that I have I can see the answer. Thank you! Simple as this is, I think it's worth adding as an answer which I'd certainly accept if you want. If you choose not to, I will add it myself for the benefit of others.

comment Convert a partition from case-sensitive to case-insensitive
This works for me. Converted a volume with 500Gb+ of data in around 10 minutes. It's worth noting that iPartition appears to stall at the point where it says "Unmounting..." but in fact it is working. Be patient.

comment Which text editors support both tabbed windows & rtf documents?
Thanks.. I had tried that one before but failed to see the tabs because they are hidden by default. Do you know if there's a way to unhide the tabs without having to hover over the bottom of the window?

comment Prevent OSX from auto-detecting and deleting dates in iCal, Reminders
This works but I hate Apple for this. Sometimes I forget to enter a time and because of this "Feature", I have no way of knowing if the time is set because I typed it in and then iCal removed it, or because it just defaulted to whatever when I created the event...

comment Duplicate entries in “Open With” menu in Finder even after rebuilding Launch Services
yes - this is a good answer but you should add killall Finder; making the complete command /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.fra‌mework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user; killall Finder;

comment Installing Xcode command line tools error: The package “DeveloperToolsCLI.pkg” is untrusted
I had already done exactly this a while back and somehow OS X set it back to "Mac App Store" without my consent. Also, this didn't work. Downloading and installing from link below in @Damian Nikodem's answer worked.
