comment What OS X and iOS software combination tracks finances?
Even though this is a particular pain point for me, I'm not willing to extrapolate that there is a vast market opportunity here that is worth the engineering effort necessary to make it happen. If the market opportunity was that large, it seems like one of the other Mac-native applications that have been listed here would have the features that I need to manage my finances without having to revert to Quicken for Windows.

comment Syncing Contacts from iPhone to Outlook
Are the contacts ones that you created on the iPhone and stored in another account, or are they ones that are currently in Outlook that you want to have on your iPhone? If it's the latter, you have this flagged with "exchange-activesync", so I presume that you have this account set up on your iPhone as an Exchange account. If so, in your iPhone settings (Settings -> Mail, Contacts, ... -> your account), check to make sure that you have sync of each of the individual items selected.

comment Powerpoint changes mission control desktops every time I focus on a window
I tried to replicate your issue too (including the Systems Pref setting), and PowerPoint behaved properly when I moved it around my various Spaces. I'm using PowerPoint 2011 (14.3.6) on Mountain Lion (10.8.4). Are you using the same version of PPT and ML?

comment Outlook 2011 reports incorrect font size
Does this happen with every font, or just a specific one? Are you up-to-date with your Outlook service packs (as of right now, the most current version is 14.3.6)? Is this new behavior, or has Outlook always behaved this way? Have you updated Safari recently? (The last question is relevant because Outlook uses WebKit for rendering email, and updating Safari updates WebKit.)

comment Windows Live POP email and folders “On my Computer” vanishes?
I fully understand what issue you're experiencing. The question is whether your identity, which houses your database and all of the other information associated with your accounts and settings in Outlook, has gotten broken in a strange way such that it is sometimes losing track of your local subfolders. If you're unwilling to try this, you could try to move all of those subfolders of the MSN folder to the top level (since you never seem to lose your top-level folders). This isn't a perfect solution, but might be an acceptable workaround if you're unwilling to create a new identity.

comment Windows Live POP email and folders “On my Computer” vanishes?
The next troubleshooting step is to try a fresh identity and see if the problem persists. Instructions are in the previous link. Add in your Windows Live account and see if it works (but since this is a temporary move, make sure that your account settings don't delete the mail from Windows Live when it's downloaded). If it works for at least a few days, then I would go back to your original identity, export your data, and then import it into your new identity.

Hmmm. I would try a database rebuild to see if that helps. Instructions for that are here: support.microsoft.com/kb/2360509

comment Windows Live POP email and folders “On my Computer” vanishes?
Just to check, are you up-to-date on your Outlook updates? Outlook 2011 should be at 14.3.5 as of this writing. It's not a sync issue, the folders in "On My Computer" don't sync with anything. If you double-click on your MSN folder, what happens?

comment Mail sent on iPhone via Safari or Twitter or other apps is never received, but email sent from within Mail is fine
If you have a free Gmail account (not a Google business account), the downside of having it set up as an Exchange account is that Google stopped making Exchange ActiveSync available earlier this year to Gmail users. It shouldn't be working for you at all, and you're having problems with it working outside of Mail, so I'm not quite sure why it's working for you with Mail (unless you mean that you've downloaded the Gmail iOS app, but you seem to be indicating that you mean Apple's Mail app.).

comment Not able to send emails through Microsoft Outlook on iPhone
When you say that you use Microsoft Outlook as your email client, do you mean the desktop client or the web client (outlook.com)? If it's the latter, then the answer from HelpingHand is the one you need. If it's the former, then you'll need to tell us who provides your email service (your employer, Comcast, or something else). If you tell us what version of Outlook you're using, and on which operating system, we might be able to tell you how to get the necessary information out of Outlook.

comment Sync iOS Notes with Exchange
Exchange ActiveSync supports syncing of notes as of Exchange 2010, so Apple could support this. The problem with going through IMAP is that it's a hack: the IMAP standard doesn't have a Note construct, and the way that notes are usually implemented in IMAP clients is to create a special folder that the client treats differently (doesn't show in the folder list, for example).
