nslookup & dig fail; ping, traceroute, and scutil -r work Sounds like your router is failing to resolve. Have you tried rebooting or reseting/updating? |

TextEdit shows dialogs about not having permission to open any files I have a ton of those lsboxd errors in my system.log too. I think they’re mostly harmless. |

TextEdit shows dialogs about not having permission to open any files Maybe. Repairing user perms couldn’t hurt. |

TextEdit shows dialogs about not having permission to open any files V strange. Still, probably wouldn’t do any harm to try to repair the user permissions. Might be some extended attributes causing issues. What OS X version are you running? Also, are there any sandbox errors in your logs? Your home directory isn’t hosted on a network mount, is it? |

How to resize Macintosh HD? I think Disk Utility doesn’t allow resizing because Apple doesn’t want end users resizing partitions. The condition is not whether the “partition” is resizable, but rather the file system — it needs to be JHFS+. Fortunately that’s the default. |

How to resize Macintosh HD? So you have a partition that is smaller than the size of the disk, and you have some unformatted/unpartitioned space left? How much space? |

Will an Airport Express extend the Wi-Fi of another-non Apple Access Point? That’s how I have mine setup. Router is plugged into the modem. I run an ethernet cable down the side of my house from the router into the Airport Express downstairs. I configure both the router and the Airport Express to have the same SSID. Express is in Bridge mode. This setup works great. |
