That's hardly a solution to what pretty much every other browser does. I'm aware of the feature and it's just way too time consuming for normal tab switching

Ha thanks, any insight is appreciated. As I said to this point it's not been critical but quite an annoyance.

It's not freezing, when I open the lid it's at the login screen, not the lock screen. It shows my main account and the guest account because it has restarted. I log in as normal and I then get the message that it has restarted

FYI I've given up and moved back to chrome. Safari just can't compete when dealing with a large number of tabs.

comment Is there a way to run Safari 5 or 6 on Mavericks?
I'm running Mountain Lion as a Virtual Box VM which works quite nicely. Might be worth going that route instead of browserstack since it is local-ish

comment I need a background process which redirects a link based on whether or not an external hard drive is connected
Sounds like a great task for cron. I have a cron script that kills iTunesHelper whenever it launches. Write a script that checks for the existence of a directory, then rewrites the link. You could run with cron it every minute without too much overhead.

comment Most efficient way to 'export' iTunes protected aac to FLAC (for personal use)?
Keep in mind itunes match maxes out at 256 bit, if your source is higher than that then you'll be losing quailty

comment What are good bi-directional, real-time synchronization utilities between Mac local folder and web server?
What about using dropbox. I'm assuming the server is *nix dropbox.com/install?os=lnx
