Mount network volume as local drive for data recovery Thanks Mike. With your advice I'm going to try and image the drives myself before I prepare to send them off to Kroll OnTrack here. Maybe I can recover some of the more crucial data from the clones, or at least assess the extent of the problem. Preserving the folder structure would be nice, but considering the situation it's not important. |

Lack of sharing options Yes, weirdly it is. It lists email, twitter, message and facebook. |

“This version of OSX is not supported on this platform.” when booting 2012 Mac Mini with SSD drive from previous system Thanks. :) I tried reinstalling to the SSD via the Recovery partition of the disk that came with the Mini, but still got the prohibitory sign so Ill what you suggest and see how that goes. Im unsure if I can migrate everything but I guess I have the disk image of the SSD around for when a common, upgradeable version of OSX is released. |

Booting internally from a harddrive that was used on a different Mac Tried a few more things: * A 3rd external, bootable HDD with ML on Mini. Wouldnt boot. * Took the HDD that came with the Mini back into it, and it booted just fine again (just like it had before and on the MBP). * Connected the SSD from the MBP to the Mini via an external SATA to USB interface, and Im now using the recovery partition on the HDD that came with the Mini to download and install ML over the ML installation thats already on the SSD. Hoping that it being installed on the Mini will make it bootable. |

Booting internally from a harddrive that was used on a different Mac Thanks for the info. Both are Mountain Lion. The HDD that came with the Mini didnt have the latest 10.8.2 supplemental update, but works now in the 2009 MBP. The SSD had that update as well but doesnt work in the Mini. It seems a bit arbitrary. |

Booting internally from a harddrive that was used on a different Mac Ok I just took the drive from the Mini and put it in the MBP (2009), and it booted just fine, so Im kind of at a loss now. |
