comment External monitor resolution setting is lost after MacBook “wakes up” from sleep
The issue still happens, but with much less frequency since I reset the NVRAM (as indicated in the approved answer).

Thank you for the information. After resetting the NVRAM with the instructions you mention, the resolution seems to be 'remembered' correctly after the computer comes back from its sleep state.

comment Tracks listed under “Manually Added Songs” continue to re-appear
I appreciate the use of the words "and THEN" in your answer. Reading it that way made me realize that the option to 'only sync tracks that are checked' trumps the manually added songs list. Thanks.

I've tried to manually un-sync from iTunes, as you suggest. Normally, this would have worked. However, the problem I am having is it doesn't work anymore. Let's say I un-sync/un-check the twelve or so "problem" tracks and select new tracks. What is happening is that iTunes will always send to the device the new tracks plus the same twelve or so "problem" tracks. They refuse to go away, no matter what I do. It's very, very odd. It's only those twelve or so "problem" tracks. Everything else that I sync/un-sync manually works as you would expect.

Facebook integration came with the 10.8.2 update. Are you on that OS X version or a previous one?
