3 (2 monitors + Ethernet adapter) devices to 2 Thunderbolt ports on a Retina MacBook Pro? Clarified that the Apple Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can only be used at the end of a chain, not as part of a chain. |

Is there a way to make some application have different resolution on a Retina Macbook Pro? No, so far as I know, you can't do that. |

How can I access a remote machine via SSH from behind a proxy? Basically, that trace tells us that data from your computer to the server's port 22 is being refused by whatever machine it's ending up at. There are numerous things that could cause this. Here are some more questions to help pinpoint the exact cause: Can you SSH from the server to itself? If not, then perhaps the SSH daemon isn't running, or it's on a different port. Is there a firewall on the server itself or on the path in-between that could be eating the connection attempt? Your trace leads me to believe you gave a domain name to SSH. Is it resolving to the correct IP address? |

Should the Sudden Motion Sensor be disabled with a hybrid hard drive? Is there any actual evidence that the sudden motion sensor damaged that SSD? The Intel SSD 320 had a firmware bug and was perfectly capable of breaking itself without any help from the sudden motion sensor. My company had one fail in the same fashion just sitting in a server. |

Recommended Remote Desktop clients (Windows RDP) @Yitz I still run it almost every day on Mountain Lion. It freaks out if you try to run it at too high a resolution (so no full screen mode on my 27" iMac), but it's okay at 1680x1050, even though it's technically unsupported. That being said, maybe it's time to give CoRD another shot. |

How to interpret outcome of Apple Hardware Test on Malfunctioning Macbook-Pro/Snow Leopard I used to own an original mid-2006 MacBook 1,1, and it did have one RAM slot go bad. If that slot was filled (even with a known good SODIMM), it would kernel panic on boot every time. It was well out of warranty, so I just got a single 2 GB SODIMM to put in the other slot, and it was still working fine by the time I sold it 2 years later. |

How to access my .ssh folder for Transmit or Cyberduck? Transmit will honor your .ssh/config, and if you have a .ssh/id_rsa, it'll use that automatically. Just connect like you normally would, but leave the password blank. |

What is disabling internet sharing on my macbook? Are there any other user accounts? Are you an admin? To check, to go System Preferences -> Users and Groups. Also, under System Preferences -> Mail, Contacts, and Calendars, are there any accounts on the left that you did not set up? |

Is there an alternative to Messages? I, on other hand, have watched it happen in real time. I'll have Messages up on my MacBook Pro while sending from my iPhone and will watch messages I sent from the phone appear on the computer in the wrong order or missing some words. I use iMessage on three Macs and two iOS devices, and in my experience, the only thing I can count on iMessage doing reliably is not working. |

How can Apple Mail be configured to mimic Gmail's “Archiving” behaviour for a generic IMAP account? That depends on if Archive is a local folder or an IMAP folder. If it's an IMAP folder, it'll stay on the server. If you've got a storage quota and high enough email volume, this could be an issue. For me, my quota grows faster than my archive, so it's a non-issue. The thing I really love about it is that my archives follow me from computer to computer without any real effort on my part. Considering how many machines I use and all the horror stories I hear getting mail databases to actually transfer correctly, this is a big deal. |
