comment iPhoto 8 alternative
I've tried to use Picasa a few times, and I've always been very disappointed. Terrible software IMHO. By the way, I use plenty of Google products (Gmail, Android, calendar, gtalk, groups, reader, etc.) so I can safely say I'm not exactly biased towards them ;)

comment How safe is it for me to install Java on OS X 10.8
(just pointing out he's referring not to the default Bitcoin client, which isn't written in Java, but to a specific third-party client, Multibit)

revised What do I need to know to buy an SSD drive for a 2008 MacBook 5,1?
removed "Pro" from the title (thanks for the edit and the comment, though!)

@cksum sure, I wasn't aware it was not a known fact that there was only a single model of that. That said, I still need an answer, I guess I'll have to search it elsewhere, np.

@cksum I've linked it, there only one single model of MacBook unibody made of aluminium.

@patrix and that's a pretty smart thing to do

Appreciate the tip, the jar ran just fine. Unfortunately it suffers from the same problem Disk Inventory X did: it takes ages to load a tree. Since OmniDiskSweeper is orders of magnitude faster, it can be done ;)

Orders of magnitude faster than Disk Inventory X, it would be great if not for some quirks, such as not being able to right click the files (to either open in finder or send them to the bin): it can only delete them. Still much better, though.

@patrix this would be great, if only was a little better (no command to move files to the bin, only to delete them immediatly). Still helpful though (post it as an answer, maybe?).

Edited to point out I only care about disk space and not the other fancy stuff.

@patrix uh? If, for instance, it was badly coded, of course there might be faster alternatives. How can you know it is state-of-the-art?
