comment iOS app for exporting HomeKit data?
I should add that by now Elgato has added native CVS export capabilities into its app, so this workaround is no longer necessary.

comment Administrator account apparently lost after forced reboot of OS X
@IronCraftMan This would seem to make the situation worse (i.e. overwrite all files on my MacBook) before it makes it better. I'd prefer to try something like the following first: 1) obtain administrator privileges for B; 2) rename /Users/A to /tmp/X; 3) recreate account A; 4) replace /Users/A by /tmp/X; 5) shift administrator rights from B back to A. That's at least the theory ...

comment Connected iPhone no longer showing in Mac Photos app
@Tetsujin Just to make sure I understand correctly: you suggestion is for turning the iPhone on/off and then restoring it from the most recent backup? (I am willing to try that, if applicable.)

@Tetsujin syncing in iTunes works fine (i.e. Mac copies e.g. podcasts to, receives backup from iPhone). The issue really seems to be confined to visibility (or connectivity) of the iPhone in the Mac Photos app.

@Tetsujin Good point: iTunes sees the iPhone. Image Capture apparently not ("Devices: 0", "No camera or scanner connected"), but I not well familiar with this Mac app.
