comment What does lsboxd process do on os x?
Then why is lsboxd invoked when I double click an ics-file to import an event into the Calendar? No interprocess communication going on then, is it?

comment Can't access Screen Sharing using a ssh tunnel “open failed: administratively prohibited: open failed”
I did that, my description was just a little brief. Though the readers would realise that since telnet localhost 5900 worked.

I also tried to increase the MaxSession parameter in sshd_conf from 10 to 64. However I don't know if I need to restart sshd for that change to take effect. Problem is that I can't do that remotely (or can I?).

I now tried with other tunnels, both a static (AFP) and a dynamic (SOCKS proxy) and both returned error messages similar to the messages described above for VNC.

Daniel: I have no problems to open a ssh connection and your suggestions returns the expected result. Or did I misunderstand your suggestion?

comment Mac OS X Mountain Lion - DNS resolving uses wrong order on VPN via dial-up connection
That is a ridiculous argument. Should an answer to complicated programming question be rejected because it does not explain the foundations of OO-programming? I don't understand most of the answers in the section about math, should they be rejected because they don't go through the foundations of transforming integrals!??

This is ridiculous. Are you Rainman or what? It was an answer expressed in a passive and humble way (since it is so obvious the person asking the question - who seemed fairly skilled - probably had tried it but just forgot to mention it in the question). And if you had tried my suggestions yourself you would notice that most likely no more steps beyond the steps included (System Preferences -> Network) was necessary for someone as proficient as the OP.

That is a weird comment. The poster didn't mention if he had tried this in his question and it could be relevant and a simple solution to his problem. Hard to tell without using the same setup.

Your situation is different from mine. Since I scanned my pages there are no fonts embedded, just image data.
