Making a micro MacBook Air (headless) You won't need to log in to use VNC if you're running a recent version of OS X. If you enable VNC in the remote desktop settings, VNC clients are presented with a separate login screen from the one on the live monitor. |

How to determine which apps iTunes will copy from iOS, to stop a deleted app being resurrected? The only thing "useful" about app syncing is that you can preserve a specific version, if you need to do so. You'll always download the newest version from the App Store on a device. But I agree that in the vast majority of cases, app syncing isn't worth the hassle. |

What does it mean when a process is surrounded by parens in `ps`? Apparently, Force Quit is equivalent to kill -15 (SIGTERM). |

generate Keynote presentation from text or Markdown? I don't have a specific answer, but Keynote can open PowerPoint presentations. It might be easier to generate one of those form your markdown files. |

Can a 2009 MacBook Pro use more memory than Apple's 'maximum RAM' figure of 8 GB? It's not necessarily just the availability of RAM modules, but also compatibility with the memory controller or other parts of the system. I don't know about your specific model, but this has worked for me in the past. Maybe you could find a store with a good return policy on RAM? :) |

Dashboard Widget for persistently editing a file I don't think this is quite correct. The documentation clearly states that Dashboard widgets can request permission to read files directly from the filesystem, or to run arbitrary command-line programs. |
