comment Are the app store review guidelines under NDA?
Although I agree that I don't think there is any NDA saying other people have done it isn't really proof. Other people murder people but that doesn't mean murdering is legal.

comment Using Siri for commercial purposes?
rememberthemilk.com/services/siri Someone has in a sort of round about way. But like bmike has said there is no public API, unfortunately, for Siri. And considering how long it's been I wouldn't expect to see it anytime soon.

Dear Tony, My name is Sam Rowlands and I’m one of the developers here at Ohanaware, thank you for your e-mail. I apologize for the delayed response to your e-mail. The file in question is part of our registration system, deleting it may cause issues with the registration of App Wrapper. Thanks for supporting Ohanaware and our software. Sam Rowlands

I was curious about this so I emailed them to see if they might shed any light onto this file. They were very vague:

comment How to get an iPad to switch automatically to the strongest network?
No go to your settings and switch to a different network. Do you have any device that will switch to a stronger signal? How would it know to switch? What's the threshold? How would it know when not to switch? Etc. I don't think it'd be impossible to do but the amount of time and effort someone would have to put into something like this probably isn't worth the limited application.

The only way this would happen is if you completely lost connection to the one you were currently on.

I read that signing out of iCloud will stop this from happening; I have not tested it myself though.

comment Is there a technical reason not to upgrade a MacBook's RAM past its listed maximum?
Upgrading RAM in any system isn't going to be the only contributing factor in stability. So to answer your question, more or less, I've never had a system crash on my latest MacBook. On the other hand, I've had applications crash on me. Similarly my server running Ubuntu has never crashed, on the other hand, Ubuntu running on my desktop throws errors/crashes regularly.

comment How to run a bash script from the desktop?
I'm not entirely sure what you mean but if you just want to double click on it and have it run you need to change the extension to .command. This will open it up in a terminal.

comment 8GB 1333mhz SODIMM in Macbook Pro 13" 2010 (7,1) alongside original 2GB stick
Agreed. Macs can be very picky about RAM and it's best to just avoid the frustration altogether if you can. I have the same MacBook and if you really need 16 GB of RAM chances are you should be doing whatever you're doing on a different machine altogether. 8GBs of ram should be sufficient and you should be able to find 2x4 for less than $50.
