Design and technology, they’re two great tastes that go great together.

I design, plan and develop online applications for big and small outfits. My true love is problem solving, from tracking down that weird segfault to whipping up a JavaScript powered layout tool. I currently spend most of my time in (Java|Coffee)Script, Ruby and Clojure but care more about getting things done than engaging in linguistic holy wars.

comment Stop iMessages from coming to my Mac
I have disabled my Apple ID in iMessage on all of my macs, and also disabled iMessage on my iPhone, forcing it to only response to SMS messages. At the end of the day, this is the behavior that I want for now. The ideal situation is that all iMessages go to every device, which it currently does not do.

I tried this and it caused other problems. When another iPhone tried to send me a text message via iMessage my phone wouldn't receive anything at all, so I disabled iMessage completely on my phone, falling back to SMS.

comment How do I stop iCal from launching Mail.app?
Havent heard anything. The script works, but iCal still wants to open Mail.app when its time to send a notification, which means I have to go back to deleting Mail.app alltogether.

Actually this didn't work. Mail.app is still opened by iCal to send notifications.

I followed the instructions in the second link and I can see that Postbox has modified the mail script now. Will let you know if this works and will mark as answered if it does.
