comment On startup Calendar shows only one calendar
This worked. But let's just assume I actually wanted the behavior described above, how would I set Calendar to behave that way?

comment What is creating a file with the name “1” in my user folder after I delete it repeatedly?
I no longer have OS 10.6.8, and I never managed to catch the creation of the file, because I forgot or was too lazy to start up fs_usage, but I accept this as the right answer, because it seems that it should have worked with a more diligent user than me :-)

comment MacBookAir 11" - WiFi not connecting in Europe
I used to have timeout errors for the first day with my new MacBook, too. I was able to connect after disabling auto and choosing one network as preferred network, I believe. Experiment with those options.

Did you disable the search for available networks, when you set up your system at home? I used to get a pop up at the train station showing me all kinds of networks, and since I only use the university network I disabled this search (there was a box to tick off) and now I don't see any networks, as if there weren't any (but there are, it is a service of the train company). I don't know what all these options are called in English, but I'm sure you can find out, if you know what to look for.

comment “Self Destruct” script to remove certain directories and/or applications
I mean is it "rm -rf path/to/file" or "rm -rf\r\n/path/to/file"? You describe the process as if the paths have to go on a new line, but I would have expected the paths to go on the same line as the remove command. So where should they go?

When I open a file in Xcode, sometimes Terminal writes "21:36:32 getattrlist /Users/username/1 0.000014 Xcode" for a few lines. It does not happen every time, though.

Thank you. Is there a way to write this to a log without having Terminal open? Because I don't know when the file will get recreated, and very likely by then I will forget to have Terminal running. Also, I started fs_usage and then opened a folder in the finder to navigate to my userfolder to delete the file, all of which created more than 400 lines in Terminal, all with stat64, getattrlist or open, all with "Finder" given as the executing application. Quite a few of those lines (about one fourth) give the path "/Users/username/1>>>>".
