comment How to drop a file onto a GUI app from command line?
@rraallvv I would download the linux version since it is written in Python and just call the function directly instead of using the wxPython bindings. I'm assuming the only thing preventing the linux version from running on OS X is the GUI.

I'm not sure how attached you are to your conversion app, but you can definitely use other command line conversion tools. See this question: apple.stackexchange.com/questions/26099/…

comment Is it better for iOS to sync Gmail contacts using Exchange ActiveSync or the CardDAV protocol?
Thank you for the informative post. The bit about the "Brother" field is new to me. I have been using Google Sync so long, I didn't know about that iPhone specific stuff. So CardDav sounds pretty good but can you say the same for the CalendarDav and IMAP support?

This should probably be a comment since it doesn't answer the question.

comment How do I play a YouTube video in the background on my iPad?
Wow I never thought to check the audio controls. I assumed it wouldn't work with videos.

comment How does iOS 5 decide which home screen to put new icons on?
I've noticed this as well. I think it's a hack to make the user manage screen A themselves since it is the home screen you view when you hit the home button. The rest are like overflow.
