I've definitely killed that process and then seen the lock remain on the screen. I will try it again next time I reproduce the bug, just to be sure.

I'm using ARD because Screen Sharing does not have this "curtain" feature, and I don't want people at work to be able to see and access my Mac when I'm not there.
