comment Can't connect to rpcbind on localhost
Sorry for the 2 year delay. For me, a sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.rpcbind.plist was necessary before the launchctl start. Thanks!

comment Make existing PDF searchable ( OCR ) via command line / script
This does not answer the original question. AFAICT, pdfbox-app does not do OCR.

comment Is there a free QR code reader for Mac?
Sadly, for my purposes, my MacBook Pro's camera can't focus near enough for the QR codes to be readable. :(

comment Deactivate automatic mark as read in Apple Mail 7.3
@Morpheus78 The best you can do is to go to the feedback page using Mail > Provide Mail Feedback… from the menu.

comment Is it possible to use US English keyboard layout with dead keys in Mavericks similar to those from Windows and Linux?
@cipricus That is why the character produced by pressing the dead key is displayed with a yellow background. Pressing space or moving the cursor will insert exactly that character.

comment Disable the text/html part in outgoing messages in OS X 10.8's Mail application
@Mark Of course it can! You can use a content-type of multipart/mixed and set the content-disposition of the part with the image to inline (see RFC 1341 and RFC 2183). This will result in what is often called an "inline attachment". This works independent of the content-type parts containing the message's text. This is what was happening in earlier versions of the Mail application.

comment Using a dyn.com dynamic host name with an AirPort device
I just found the same statement on a page talking specifically about just updating the IP Address on a DNS record from an AirPort device. Could you expand your answer to be more explicit on that?

Does this also exclude updating the A record using RFC 2136 (which is what is used AFAIK) or just registering services?
