huh? Don't know what you're talking about. I didn't really think of this as the same thing as using CCC, it was a lot less trouble than I remember CCC being in the past. Hell I gave your answer an upvote so I don't see what your problem is. I was just answering the question with what I actually did, which I thought was the whole point around here...

comment How to disable the dock on a specific display in Mavericks?
Aha... ok thanks for that. Unfortunately I specifically don't want to lose the multiple menu bars, but having the dock on my 3rd screen is seriously frustrating. It looks like there is no way I can "win" here. The multiple menubars and iCloud Keychain were the only practical reasons for me to upgrade to Mavericks anyway... so I might just have to stay with Mountain Lion after all.

How on earth do you drag the dock from one monitor to another? I can't figure out a way to do that...

Yeah the thing is, I specifically would rather not go through the whole cloning process & restoring a drive to another drive, since this is not a "new" drive, not is it actually going to serve as a "replacement" for my current drive. Definitely don't want to deal with Time Machine for the same reasons. Is there any technical reason why drag & drop of my current boot partition's contents will not work, for my purpose of merely evaluating Mavericks for several days before committing my primary drive to it?

comment Why does Messages on OSX always show unread messages?
After observing this for some time, I noticed that it's not always 2 mesages... sometimes it's 1, sometimes it's none. I have a feeling it's related to the messages being "unread" on other devices - like my phone or ipad - for a while. Eventually the notification seems to disappear. Unless anyone can shed any other light on this, I'm going to assume that's the case and close this question.

comment How to change shortcut used for temporary zoom (accessibility feature)?
Was worth a shot, especially since I already use BTT. Unfortunately for me, I get no functionality on click at all after using this approach. Not even a standard left click... I don't get the context menu anymore, but nothing else either.

The problem is I want to be able to keep my right hand on the mouse, while my left hand triggers the zoom, so that I can instantly interact with the control the cursor is positioned over. Having to hit CMD-OPT-8 doesn't really allow me to do that, I could map that to a simpler left-hand-only shortcut, but really the temporary zoom is exactly the feature I want to use, I just need to make it not use the Control key.

No 3rd party utility. I'm not referring to the scroll gesture. Click on More Options in that dialog, and you'll see the Enable Temporary Zoom option. That is what I'm using, and doesn't seem to allow for not using Control.
