comment Why does Messages on OSX always show unread messages?
That's pretty handy, thanks! I just still wish I could get to the bottom of why it does this in the first place and make it stop.

comment Legit email is consistently going to junk folder despite NOT being marked as junk
Thanks, although I'd really prefer not to have to add a whole other solution for this. Incidentally I used to have the "trust headers" option enabled, and actually disabled it recently thinking it might be the culprit. It was not. The problem here is not false positives (though there are plenty of those) - it's that Mail is moving messages into Junk, that are not marked as junk! That's what I'd like to get to the bottom of - is this a bug? Some expected behavior that I don't understand? A feature??

comment Find symbolic links (’s names) with Spotlight (Finder)
@danielAzuelos Actually no, Finder (Spotlight) is not able to locate symlinks, period. Not by name, not by type, not by anything. That's the whole problem as clearly indicated in the original question. @ fd0 The problem is, I have no option to not use Spotlight. Other apps I use, are also not able to see symlinks, and it appears to be because they also leverage Spotlight. In particular I use Path Finder as a "replacement" for Finder (more of an addition really) and the developer has given me some indication that it should be able to find them, but as yet no joy. Any other suggestions?

I have the same problem, and I need a way to make the native Finder/Spotlight find symlinks, not a CLI solution. Did you ever find a way to make Spotlight index symlinks?

comment How to completely disable Airplay in Mac OS X
Not in my case, as that was the whole problem... Airplay was not being shown. In the end I replaced it with a different machine and then it stopped trying to connect spontaneously, so it became a non-issue.

My request was specific to not having to input the exact time & date.

Haven't tried anything special, just trying to set this in Calendar natively. Really don't want to have to jump through any hoops or do anything more complex for something this basic. I just want certain alerts to notify me when a scheduled block of time is up.

comment How to return to camera when looking at Albums?
Yeah I guess it's logical... kinda... in theory... on paper. LOL But in actual practice, one of the most common things someone would want to do, would be to look at their photos, then take some more. Oh well... just using the application switcher works. Thanks!
